FibblewicksWindow
Missing children in the affluent neighbourhood of Fortside Park led to Maxine, the housekeeper of Ellian Everthaw (lecturer in Moradonian History at the Briarkeep College of Scholarly Pursuits) to hire the Guild to investigate. Three children had disappeared in the night in the last week. No sign of a break in or a struggle.
Upon investigating the house of the Everthaws and the Shuttlethwaites the party (JB, Snesi, Cathba, Morrigan and Irvine) found a tuft of pink fur, heard mention of a pink pig and found remnants of a box for Fibblewicks a once-famed toyshop which closed down after the owner disappeared 7 years ago.
They headed down to the once affluent shopping street, hearing the shouts of derelicts in the fog. The front door to Fibblewicks still stood, bold as brass, gears and clockwork. Prizing off the boards to the window, for Fibblewicks' solstice windows where a seasonal treat for the children of Briarkeep, and saw a charming diorama of The Briar Lord defending Briarkeep from a clockwork dragon. The Briar Lord did some gestures, which the party realised was a code to get through the door.
A derelict toy shop, its floorboards ripped up, a banner fallen from the wall reading "Sale: Everyone's favourite dwarf doll, the Manic Miner!". The sound of gears and several clockwork dolls tore up through the ground. Battle ensued. The Manic Miners has some sort of static build up, that really packed a punch. With some clever use of the Thunderwave spell, they expelled the burrowing beasties to the surface.
Into the next room they went. It was dark and the room was filled with a small scale landscape, with a model train running a circuit. The party happily boarded the train and road around the miniature Moradonia, until out of the darkness a bolt flew at JB. Using his monk reflexes he caught it and caught a glimpse of two shining eyes darting left and right. "INTRUDERS! PREPARE FOR BATTLE!" rang out.
Battle ensued, the Rampant Ranger blew up the train. Fire, chaos, bolts from the darkness.
Next was a room adorned with musical notes and a large keyboard on the floor. The right tune opened a secret door.//
A corridor, lined with huge stuffed toys. Hanging lifeless from rails. A torch held up to a teal owl bear, its eyes lifeless as its fur melts, then is stuffing.
The party then came to the workshop, a large room with a strange apparatus constructed. A boot on a swing. A statue of a diving man. A see saw. A giant marble run. In its centre a cage with three children in attached to a pole, at the top of which was a swirling portal.
A gnome, with glowing red eyes turned a clockwork key. Shit was about to go down.
Battle ensued. The gnome was protected by a large orange orb that bounced around the battlefield with gnarly horns and a crude face drawn on it.
Out of the darkness loomed a large pink furry pig, which knocked Snesi unconcious twice. But sadly didn't kill him.
The battle was won, the gnome slain, the children saved, but the plush golem walked off into the night.
